Our engineers have developed a Variable Resistance Compensator "VRC" and
believe they are the only company in the world to supply it as standard on
applicable machines. "VRC" enables the user to adjust the starting
position of an exercise arm, (like the swing-arm of a leg curl) to a position
that suits their degree of flexibility or desired range of motion. While
still maintaining the correct amount of varying resistance induced by the
exercise cam.
Long ago variable resistance cams were designed and fitted to machines to
provide different loads to the muscle at different stages of the repetition.
For instance while performing a lying leg curl the user is dramatically weaker
for the last 18 degrees or so of the repetition, so a properly designed exercise
cam should provide a great deal less resistance from that point to prevent
any sticking point. However in recent years manufacturers have begun designing
machines with the provision to adjust the starting position.
The problem with these conventional style systems is that the swing arm
adjusts independently from the cam, and therefore the machine does not
maintain the correct variable resistance that the cam was originally designed
to provide. If someone who is recuperating from a previous injury or surgery
and has less than average flexibility adjusts the starting position forward
to where it is comfortable for them to begin. The cam will no longer be decreasing
the resistance at the correct part of the repetition. In some cases the
cam may even be inducing maximum resistance when it should be providing the
minimum. For an exerciser recuperating from an injury this is a potentially
dangerous scenario. Our "VRC" automatically compensates for the
changed start position and ensures the cam always provides the correct variable
resistance. Our engineering team has implemented it in a way that does not
require any extra thought, knowledge or effort on the part of the client or
instructor. It is absolutely maintenance free, and covered under our 10 year
structural warranty.
The Integrity machines which feature "VRC" are: Pec Dec, Fly machine,
Seated Leg curl, Lying Leg Curl and Abdominal machine.
